Questions
The things people ask first.
If yours is not here, call or message — a real answer comes back faster than reading a page of them.
My flight is delayed. Do I lose the booking?
No. Give your flight number when you book and the arrival is tracked from it, so a late plane simply moves the pickup. You do not need to call from the air.
Where exactly will you be waiting?
In the arrivals hall at Keflavík, past baggage reclaim and customs, with your name on a sign. If anything goes wrong, your phone number and ours are exchanged when the booking is confirmed.
How many people fit, and how much luggage?
Tell us the number of passengers and how many suitcases when you ask for a price, and you will be told straight away whether it fits in one car — and if it does not, there is more than one.
Do you have child seats?
Ask when booking and say the child's age. Icelandic law requires an appropriate restraint for young children, so this is arranged in advance rather than on the day.
How do I pay?
In the car, at the end of the trip — card or cash. Nothing is paid online: a booking made on this site is a request, confirmed by email or WhatsApp, and the price is fixed in that confirmation.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the pickup — reply to the confirmation, or call or WhatsApp. Later than that, or if nobody shows up, the full price is due: the car and the day were held for you.
Is it safe to drive in winter?
With the right car and a driver who knows the roads, yes — Icelanders drive all winter. What changes is the plan: in bad weather a route may be shortened, swapped or moved to another day. You will be told honestly what is sensible, rather than driven into a storm to keep a booking.
Will I see the northern lights?
Nobody can promise that. The aurora needs darkness, clear sky and solar activity at once. A private car means you can chase the clear patch and stay out while it is worth staying out — but any company guaranteeing you a sighting is selling something it does not control.
Do you speak English?
Yes — English, Icelandic and Swedish.
Can you pick up outside Reykjavík?
Yes. Hotels and guesthouses anywhere within reach, cruise terminals, and addresses well outside town. Tell us where you are and it is priced from there.
Still unsure?
Ask before you book. It costs nothing and takes a minute.
