About

A family business, licensed and local.

Not a call centre with a fleet of subcontractors. A family that has been driving Iceland for over thirty years — and when you book, it is one of us who turns up.

Who drives you

An Icelandic family business, licensed by Samgöngustofa, that has been driving these roads for over thirty years — in summer light that never quite goes, and in February when the wind decides the plan.

That matters more than it sounds. Conditions here change inside an hour, and the difference between a good day out and a bad one is usually somebody knowing when to change the route, and being honest with you about why.

We speak Icelandic, English and Swedish.

More than one car

Most bookings are one car and one driver. If you are more than fit in one, there is another car. Say how many you are when you ask for a price, and it is arranged.

What the price includes

The full price is agreed before you travel — the driving, the waiting, the fuel and the driver's time. Nothing is added at the end because the traffic was bad or the stop ran long.

What is not included is what you spend yourself: entry to the Blue Lagoon or a museum, food, and anything else you buy on the way.

Licensed, and why that matters

Passenger transport in Iceland is licensed by Samgöngustofa, the national transport authority. A licence means the vehicle is inspected, the driver is checked, and you are insured as a paying passenger. It is worth asking any driver in any country for it — and worth expecting a straight answer.

Questions before you book?

Ask anything — about the car, the route, the weather in the week you are coming, or whether a plan is realistic in the time you have.
